Back in a Routine

It is so nice to be back in a routine!  However, there continues to be one thing after the next lately...

Red flags & rip current warnings at the beach

A flat tire on the way home

A broken headlight

Our internet went out

The AC on our bottom floor went out (and was out for 11 days total!)

We had a mouse in the house (which I was thankfully able to get safely back outside)

I accidentally dyed my hair way too dark

And then both boys fell on their bikes on the same day.  Brady hurt his lip but thankfully is okay.  Tyler was very lucky that he wasn't more seriously injured considering his fall, but he still needed to go to both urgent care and ortho on call.  Thankfully, his x-rays were clear (he hurt both his thigh and his ankle) but he can't walk normally just yet.  I keep telling my boys that I am ready for some boring days!!

The First Day of School!

Tyler had a great first day of ninth grade on August 18th and Brady had a great first day of fourth grade on August 19th!  I know it wasn't easy for Tyler to get up so early for the first time since May 30th, but he did it!

Brady and I loved seeing the high school during Tyler's orientation.  It is so fancy!  Brady had a great time meeting his 4th grade teacher!

Poor Skye was so confused when Tyler & Brady were both gone...

More August Photos & Videos

Tyler & Brady ended their summer with a trip to Taylor Farm Park.  Brady also enjoyed a few trips to the pool, and a lunch date with his friends, Milton & Ella, followed by a trip to Dave & Busters.  Dan and Tyler went to Bryce ski resort to go mountain biking, and they also took a trip to Pocahontas State Park.  Tyler got to have a sleepover at his friend Daygan's house, and he went to Kings Dominion with his friend, Pete.  We also took him and his friend, Braylan, to another friend's neighborhood for a meet up.

Unfortunately, we've had lots of drama lately!  First, we got a flat tire on 95 when we were coming home from the beach.  We were only a few minutes from home when it happened.  Then our headlight went out and our internet went out, and then the AC unit on our first floor went out.  It was brutally hot for 3.5 days but then thankfully the weather turned cooler.  But it has definitely felt like it's been one thing after the next!

Making me happy lately...

This picture of Skye cracks me up!  I know it can't be easy living with a professional photographer...

Dan went to Pet Smart recently and saw a cat that he thought looked like Skye.  He sent pictures of the cat to me & Tyler, which made me go back and look at the photos I had found years ago of Skye & his siblings as kittens...
